Time to vote I say! Excitement over black leggings.

And the gazelle, too. Here’s one of my own harsh truths: I could easily shop from my own closet for a year and beyond–if I could fit into my “skinny” clothes as well as my “fat” ones.

Let’s face it, sleeveless tops and little tees never go out of style–as long as you have sleek, toned arms and a flat l’il waist to tuck it around. I truly hate to obsess over weight–and know that I’m grateful to be relatively fit and healthy, and that there are only about 15-20 lbs. in question.  Still, I feel extra motivated to see if I can get in a groove again about working out and eating, so that suddenly, voila!, I’ll have lots and lots of “new” stuff to choose from.

You have my word I will not be obsessing over this, but I just wanted to air this, as it’s been nagging at me. Maybe this recession shopping diet will somehow get me into those little tees, and maybe not–and if not, I will donate them happily to someone who can wear them.

So I’ll leave you with this one question: Does this post make my butt look big?

One Response to “The Elephant in the Closet…”

  1. Over half of the women on the diet have at one point mentioned their weight relative to their wardrobes. I still buy size 6 tops even though I am clearlly not a size 6 anymore. What gives? I think as we age we get stuck in how are bodies were in their 20s. A false ideal I suspect. My mother who is in her early 70s still stresses about weight (and by the way she looks amazing). All I can say is I hope I get over my stress about weight before I’m 70 but I’m not sure that will ever happen. Question for you…does this post make my upper arms look flabby?
