Ladies,
I’m curious who of you still dress up for Halloween. And for those of you who do, what will you be wearing this year? Can you pull off a costume without breaking TGAAD rules?
I’ve always thought Halloween dress-up was fantastic fun, but because I’m a stepmom to two teenage boys who’ve decided the tradition is “lame,” it’s easy to lose my early-October enthusiasm for a frightful night out by the 31st. For the past few years, I’ve decided at sundown that slipping on an orange t-shirt to pass out snickers bars is spirited enough.
But, this year, I think I might actually get my act together. The Highball Lounge (combination bowling alley/karaoke bar/dance floor/1950’s food/signature cocktails) just opened in our south Austin hood and they will be hosting a Zombie Prom. To gain entrance to this party, they insist you come zombified. No problem. I’m thinking one little black dress, a pair of slutty heels, zombie eye makeup and a dead rat corsage. Aside from the rat (which is an accessory, thank you very much), I won’t have to purchase anything new.
Curious what you all have planned…
