A New Recruit Underwear is out of scope for me

In my previous post, I mentioned that I had decided to buy two very inexpensive items to wear around the house in the summer time.

I made my purchase after going through some lengthy lines of thought. I did not own anything that could be a substitute or even a pinch hitter for a season.

I did not purchase thoughtlessly; I contemplated the need at great length.

If I were to put that much consideration into every purchase I make–clothing, of course, but other things as well–I would save a lot of money. After great deliberation, one cannot call a purchase impulsive or thoughtless.

The first quarter of 2010 is over and my sum of spending is about $25.00 and I have to show for it some things I really needed. Last year I had probably spent about $2000 at the same time and am wearing NONE of these items. They sit in my closet waiting for the right occasion, which will come only if the Queen of England suddenly decides to summons me to a private tea. Those Hermes scarves? Never worn, because then they will get “ruined” or need to be dry-cleaned.
