As was brought up a few weeks ago, there are a few of us dieting while on the diet. I have to admit that I let myself go quite a bit, and I was up to a size 20 – 225 pounds at my worst.
While not doing so well on the exercise front, I’ve had a great deal of success with counting calories, and have lost about sixteen pounds since the beginning of the dual diet extravaganza. I hadn’t been thinking about it much, until last night. I realized that my work slacks were actually loose enough to pull off without unbuttoning. Part of me was jubilant – I’m out of the 20s for good! The rest of me, however, was concerned… Here’s hoping that the 18s look okay on me! If not, I’m going to have to buy a belt.
Happily, I’ve retained much of my old wardrobes, so I’ll be able to size down without purchasing anything new. I’m looking forward to going shopping in storage – I don’t even remember what all I own.
YAY for you!!! Congratulations on losing that weight… that’s a great accomplishment! I’m glad to hear you have some smaller clothing sizes in storage, too. Maybe you’ll turn up some old favorites that you forgot were in there and it’ll almost be like getting something “new” to wear!
I don’t have much in the way of smaller sizes in my closet, but so far I’m making do with what I DO have… belts are our friends!
I hear Ya! I’ve let myself slip for a few years too. I have a TON of clothes that I can not wear at the moment and need to find a way back into them. 3 years agot I was about 30 pounds lighter and wow, does that ever make a difference (I am also short).
I have no one to blame but myself. Just reading your update this morning is an inspiration to me to make better choices for today. (Wish me luck, I am going to a baby shower this afternoon).
It’s not cheating to go to the tailor and get your existing clothes resized to fit your new body, right?
I think if I had more of my clothes tailored to fit me, I would see that I DO own great stuff; it just isn’t fitting me properly. In the old days, didn’t ladies sew their own garments or go to the tailor religiously? What’s wrong with us, thinking anything off the rack will fit properly? A little cobber attention to my existing shoes would perk up a few pair, too.
