Sally – I for one have this FABULOUS navy blue Audrey Hepburn-esque dress from Max Mara that is collecting inches of dust in my closet. Why I spent over $1200 on this dress is still unclear to me — what I could do with $1200 now!
But I was pulled in by this ever so slight Asian shop girl, who said all the right things and made me feel so very glamorous as a twirled around the store. http://www.maxmara.com/it/Collezioni/MaxMara-Elegante Note that in the photo that is neither me or my date.
Of course I didn’t just leave with simply the dress, but a Max Mara patent leather clutch and a silk scarf to accessorize this blue beauty. I am too embarrassed to tell you my final bill. The dress was for my friend Lauren’s wedding — a large wedding – and no doubt I am sure a dress from TJ Maxx for $120 – or maybe even one less zero, $12, would have totally worked.
That is a great dress! You could probably fetch at least $800 on e-bay? I wish I could tell you how to do it.
Do you think our dresses at the back of our closets laugh at us when we turn out the light and close the door? They cackle amongst the unworn sweaters, overpriced jackets and designer jeans that were “must-have” favorites for a fleeting moment? “sucker!”
