I’ve been tested: an invite to a Mad Men themed bridal shower next week. I will beg, borrow and steal from my friends to put something together for this, and it will be okay. (Don’t worry Stacya, your Joan Halloway dress is safe since you’re so much taller than me.)
But okay is a lot different than fabulous. I adore vintage clothes, but Mad Men’s wardrobe — though highly nostalgic — has the crispness and sheen of something fresh off the rack. Nothing sags or itches or bears a faded palette. It’d just be so fun and easy to find pieces out in the department stores that mimic the show’s flair.

Well no matter what you wear you will need a pointy bra and lots of beads. Certainly someone out there can help. How tall are you? Size?
That was a genius thought. A pointy bra will transform my sweaters. I’ll just find a skirt and all will be well.
Not sure if you are in SEattle but there are great 50’s/60’s pieces at the Ballard Goodwill….. a shimmering peacock colored silk shift cut just below the knee. Simple but totally stunning….
