Dear GAAP,
My name is Tabatha and I am an Emerging Media and Communications undergraduate student who has been greatly inspired to begin the Great American Apparel Diet as of the new year! I see that so many women around the world are working to discover what is really important in life while reducing clutter, stress, waste, and excess material noise in their lives and feel it is a beautiful gesture to self discovery and inner peace that many of us desperately need. Having access to a network of other women pursuing the same goals makes the challenge seem much more simple than it would be if left to one’s own devices. The website is such a great support system to have in an age of omnipresent advertising and demoralizing manipulation, and I am so pleased to know that I am not alone in my endeavors to lessen my material possessions and increase the resplendent quality
of my life. In fact, when beginning my self-chosen blog on minimalism that was assigned for my Writing for New Media course, I thought of and devoted an entry to the Great American Apparel Diet and will continue documenting my experiences as I delve further into the diet in coming months. I also find great importance in giving credit where it is due and showing others how much I appreciate their efforts, so I would like everyone at the GAAP to know how thankful I am for their persistent blogging and the hard work that ties the community together.
I wish the best to you all,
Tabatha Patterson
