So, being on the diet has forced me to reassess my clothes. More appropriately having recently moved, my boxes and boxes of clothes. As I unpack everything and start to go through things with a much more critical eye, it dawns on me what a terrible habit I had of buying multiples of EVERYTHING.
I don’t know what possessed me to do such a thing, but really I needed five of that same shirt in a rainbow of colors (and several of each color)? The diet is really making me take a long hard look at my shopping habits and I have realized that my ‘more is more’ tendencies are not always a good thing. Could I have purchased one or two really fabulous shirts in place of six so-so average ones? Well of course. It’s interesting having had all these clothes packed in boxes for a while and opening everything and seeing things with a different view to their purpose and value.
It has made me realize that life is too short to walk around looking like a carbon copy of yourself everyday in your uniform of same clothes different day. When I can shop for clothes again I will be looking for them to be more fabulous and less blah; One or two fabulous, quality pieces instead of six boring ones.
As far as the other diet goes, twelve pounds down and many more to go. One whole size is packed and ready to go to goodwill, as soon as I drop to the next size, off it will all go.
