We have officially lost two dieters Up for the Challenge

Hello Friends,
I feel badly that a few friends have quit the diet. Any diet, any changes in my life usually comes with some set back. Two steps forward and hopefully only one step backward. Moving forward to positive change is the goal. Being perfect is a fantasy and not the goal. I don’t have to look far to see what the illusion of perfect creates. I’ll state the obvious one, Tiger.

So instead of trying to be perfect in any diet, the occasional chocolate or the big spoon in the ice cream carton shows up sometimes. However, how I handle this mishap is more important than dwelling on the mishap. What will I do next time I am tempted? That’s the journey, isn’t it?

This challenge is tough. I am using it for my Lenten Penance. . .in addition to limiting sugar. . .I don’t know which one is harder and believe me, I have not been perfect. God help me.

  1. Oh, sister. Boy do I know where you are coming from. Honestly, the clothing diet hasn’t been tough. Quitting smoking, tough, but doable. (no cigarettes for 5 months and no nicotine mints for 4 days; go me!). Exercising…easy enough, but God help me I cannot cut out sugar. I’m trying soooo hard. Stevia in my tea, savory not sweet snacks, but I just can’t do it. I love me some cookies and chocolate! In fact, I eat a piece (or more) of chocolate just about every day. I’m trying so hard to cut back on sugar, but I seem to treat it like a reward system. I give up drinking, smoking, buying clothes, here’s a cookie…kinda thing. I am however, going to make a concerted effort to seriously cut back on my sugar starting in April and I’ll be sure to blog about it. Keep us posted on how you are making out.
