Hat Veil Piece Frou Frou La La Uniform Project Auction
Apr 12

I’ve been feeling the stress from work lately. Projects have been piling up, and my coworkers and I are scrambling to get things done, in the grand “do more with less” fashion.

Between the actual food diet, and the clothing diet, finding something to do to blow off steam has been very difficult.  I can’t turn to the typical comfort foods, and I most certainly can’t go buy a shirt or skirt to brighten the day.  As a result, I’ve been trying to find a way to destress. The hubby and I have been doing a lot more walking outdoors – with the beautiful weather (and the good company!) has been doing fairly well to calm down life.

It’s interesting, how society has taught us to rushrushrush through our days. To be perfect, perfectly dressed, perfectly coiffed. To be anything less, and to take the time to admit that… it’s rare.  I’m glad that the Diet is making so many of us face why we blindly do things.

I too shop as a stress relief! And I too am trying to lose weight. Sometimes it feels like a double whammy but you are so right about the demands our society puts on us to rushrushrush through our days. Exercise and spending time with loved ones is a great alternative. I also have started reading more. Partly because there are no ads for clothing in novels so it keeps the temptations down. My sister-in-law told me a few years ago that she doesn’t even look at the sales flyers that come with the newspaper because they just make her want to spend money on things that are cute but she doesn’t really need! I have started doing this as well. now when I do come across ads I am more aware of whether or not I really need something or if I am being blindly led down the path of consumerism gone wild.
