OK, I cheated just now. At 5:00 PM tonight when I went down to the 36th annual Gleason Girls sale on Queen Anne. It is a big sale in a big house on Highland, and the consignment there is the best. I am a cheater. I saw this Missoni, yes Missoni turtle neck and I caved. I don’t feel as bad as I thought I might, because the wonderful Mary Bridget Gleason Pehl who runs the consignment part of the sale…. did I say it is a MIssoni turtle neck? Anyway, Mary Bridget is a nice Catholic girl, and when I confessed my guilt to her about this GAAD, she said “don’t worry about it, it looks fab on you and it is the Missoni ORANGE LABEL”. I didn’t know what orange label meant, but I nodded and made my eyes big like I knew exactly what she was talking about. I feel like I was forgiven right then and there, because Mary Bridget forgave me when I confessed to her, and waved her hand in this way when she told me not to worry about it, in a kind of majestic, Pope like way. So I bought another gently used silk sweater, too. I do feel bad. Like when I wrote the sentence just now saying I bought the second sweater. But if Mary Bridget has forgiven me, can you? If you do I will post pictures. If you don’t you can shame me at the clothes swap on Sunday. Hail Mary.
You did what?! Kidding. Hey relapse is part of recovery. I will forgive you this once but hope that this is not the beginning of a trend. I have been to the Mary Bridget sale before and it is a dangerous place to be. Sort of like dropping a cat in a pile of cat nip. Remember–don’t belly up to the bar if you’re trying to get off the sauce. Yeah, yeah, yeah….blah, blah, blah. Missoni Orange Label, (is that a pasta). I suppose an orange label on anything is reason enough ( I have always equated orange with a jail house). Though I didn’t know there was such a thing either. I suspect it’s out of my league. See you at the swap and post pictures please.
Like Sally said–we’re here for you, Stacya. Mary Bridget does indeed sound dangerous and perhaps the place we can all go en masse next September? Meanwhile, I second the motion: Photos please.
