Even Southern California Gets It! How much is too much for a pair of jeans? I say pay what you have to
Nov 06

Hey Gals-I know a couple of you have asked this in the past, but I never saw the answer.  What do we do if we have a gift certificate?  I have one that I was given pre-diet and it is still sitting on my bathroom counter because I am wary of it!!  What’s the thought on those things???

I have the same situation. I am thinking of buying candles or other small stalking stuffer for friends for the holidays.

  2. Well a gift certificate is a gift….right? I think if you use it it is fine. I fully suspect that this coming Christmas I will get a gift certificate too. And if I do…I will use it. But that said, I know some of the women on the diet have forfeited gift certificates in lew of a gift for someone else. That is more of the cold turkey approach. Either way you are being mindful of your shopping and not caught up in an impulsive splurge frenzy. Right?

    I’ll second that.

Phew. I leave two days after Thanksgiving for a week long surfing trip and I actually do not own a bathing suit with enough lycra left in it not to be left dangling immodestly after a good wave!! Now to find one cheap enough that I can get it with my gift certificate……

I just got one for American Eagle for $25. I ended up spending $12 out of my pocket. I thought about how much work that translated to… over an hour’s worth of work for a t-shirt…

I returned the extra t-shirt and kept the v-neck sweater for $23. I was able to get the extra $2 back.

P.S. I got a pair of underwear and a scarf for $7 the other day at Gap and I got two Silk Calvin Kline ties at Macy’s for $15 ea.! What a deal.
