Hello Friends,
For me, changing my habits takes a great deal of time. I fail; I try again; I fail; I try again.
So, I think I am finally getting to a new stage with this less shopping challenge. You notice I did not say, no shopping, because I have shopped and I have purchased. Yup. However, this time last year, the packages were arriving. One year later, no UPS have arrived for two months.
First, my bathing suit colors ran after I went swimming. Normally I would have purchased a new one immediately. Nope, still wearing the bleeding polka dotted two piece.
Secondly, I attended a wedding and wore a dress that I have worn quite a few times. That would never have happened in the past. Shoes, same thing. I love the dress and the shoes.
No new shorts, tops, etc.
I am having a better sense of what I truly need to look stylish. I am beginning the know the difference between infatuation and real love, fickleness and true lasting affection. Less is more.
Having too much stuff causes anxiety for me. Too many choices clouds my decision making.
Although I have had a rough time with this diet and have failed quite a few times, more times than I have shared with y’all, I’m still see the value.
I have been impressed by those who have been true blue to this diet; I applaud you and you have been an inspiration.
Sally did call it THE GREAT APPAREL DIET for a reason and for me it has taken a GREAT deal of effort.
Thanks.
Brenda aka Coookie
Amen to “having too much stuff causes anxiety”! Anxiety over closet reorganization, anxiety every morning over what to wear, anxiety over keeping something that doesn’t fit and being stressed when you put it on and feel fat all over again, anxiety over the dry cleaning bill!! Yuck to it all!
I have to clean my closet and my room this weekend? Why because too much stuff. This idea is awesome.
