Hello Friends,
Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.
Two things: First my friends were visiting from the north. What fun! Second, I broke my diet, the Great American Apparel Diet. I could blame cheating on my “diet” on my friends. After all my friend, who we were shopping for, said, “Don’t you think you have learned a great deal about your shopping habits during the time you have been in the diet, so you have achieved your goal?” Yup, right. Of course, she said this when I was at my weakest point, three hours into the shopping extravaganza when I was particularly vulnerable. I would equate my experience to an alcoholic hanging in a bar with his friends for three hours without drinking and then at the weakest moment, well you know what happens. However, I am proud that I only had two purchases. OK, three during the entire shopping experience. Pretty good.
One of the jackets we both purchased although we are different shapes and sizes. The other I purchased is a brown, shiny jacket. and a white ruffled blouse. All of these items can be worn dressed up, down, inside out – you get the point. Wear the jacket with jeans, black pants, white jeans, etc.
A real Ageless Goddess knows when to fold, and fold I did. Do I have any regrets? NOOOOOOOO! The entire experience was way too much fun! However, I am back on the “diet.” We all cheat a bit when we are on a diet, but an Ageless Goddess knows that a little chocolate on the weekend is not going to break all the other good practices during the week.
I probably can’t get absolution because I am not feeling as remorseful as I should. Oh, I do have pangs of guilt, thus my confession.
In all other parts of my life, I am very disciplined, but. . .see, trying to rationalize. Not good. I failed, with three really good purchases, but I am back on the wagon. . .
Three Hail Marys, Father?
I’m quite the advocate of giving away an equal amount/type of clothing to charity that you acquired as penance. Keeps some balance in things.
Alternately, I saw that Sleep Country is collecting pajamas and underclothes for foster children in need. You could make up for clothes shopping by doing more shopping!
Just a couple of suggestions. Follow your heart.
Whatever clothing comes in, the same amount must go out. Goodwill is recipient. . .I have already done that. . .need I do more?

Good girl! Sounds like your work is done here. Go forth and sin no more!
