Stacya Silveman, 40ish, Seattle. Stacya is a business owner, entrepreneur and people magnet. She recently launched a super innovative new venture called Beauty Alert, a company that helps people figure out when their cosmetics are dangerously outdated. Stacya’s philosophy on apparel is quality over quantity. “I love my classic Diane Von Furstenberg wrap- around-dress, it is a jersey silk and feels and looks terrific. I could not imagine my wardrobe without it!” Silverman also looks to local Queen Anne tailor Sarah Harlett to perfect some of the clothes she already has. “She changed some buttons out on my coat from last year and it is like a brand new purchase.” Silverman has had Sarah do little things to update her clothes, such as changing the length of a dress, taking in seams, letting out seams, making the item feel like something new. In preparation for the diet, Stacya went to Lucy and bought her winter workout gear for wet weather, 2 running jackets and pants all made of high tech fabric. “I guess this is my last purchase for 12 months! That makes me a little anxious.” Stacya’s fears around this apparel diet surround her desire for warm, fabulous and cozy winter sweaters. She says she will miss that "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" feeling she gets after finding the missing piece to her wardrobe, trying it on, buying it and taking it home. “I will miss the feeling of wearing it for the first time, and showing it to my girlfriends. I will miss the ooohing and awwwwing and my friends asking "where did you get it?" and commenting "how perfect!" Basically I’ll miss all the girlie talk I love surrounding shopping. I might have to see my therapist about this American Apparel Diet....
