42, Seattle. I stumbled on the Apparel Diet site and thought it would be perfect to join since I haven't purchased any new apparel since January '09 anyway. My decision was made for me since I was unexpectedly laid off earlier this year. It actually made me reevaluate everything that is important in my life including my wardrobe. I realize that my closets are already currently filled with a lot of clothes from my travels and going to local designer sales. Since I tended to purchase items that are well made they actually have lasted many years. With the exception of birthday presents in the form of a jacket I haven't bought any new apparel. I have also realized that in the past my hobby would be to visit the apparel stores for the great sales and deals and now when I get that urge I just go to a yoga class or a walk around Seward Park.
I am a Commercial Interior Designer and have worked on a variety of high end retailers and had many opportunities to visit wonderful designer stores and of course enjoy the fashion and current designs. I really appreciate the well designed and functional object ranging from a salt and pepper shaker to furniture and the built environment. I love hanging out at art museums and catching up on movies of all kinds. My interests are Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Travel, Astrology, Photography, Design, Hiking, and most recently baking and hooping.
I am not a native to Seattle but currently reside here and have just enjoyed the past summer's amazing weather. I have completed my on line portfolio to share www.chingchingchung.com some examples of my past projects.
