Today it was announced that Marcy Maloy, a woman I work with will be on the upcoming season of The Amazing Race. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a reality show where couples (not necessarily romantically linked) go out into the wilderness and fight for their lives (makes giving up apparel for a year look like child’s play). Anyway, my friend is a successful commercial photographer. She is a rock star in her field and is, among other things, a trapeze artist and mother of two beautiful daughters. Oh and did I mention she has amazing style. Great jeans or cargo pants, vintage boots, a t-shirt and leather jacket. Her style is consistent, classic and hip. Oh and did I mention she’s sixty years old and seriously looks 40. The woman is gorgeous and inspirational in so many ways. I bring up Marcy in the context of TGAAD because she is a woman who has found her style and wears it with such confidence and grace–and I know for one that’s what I am trying to achieve. God knows what Marcy wore in the jungles of the race. I can only imagine she wore whatever it was with great panache.
